So, how exactly is the rest of the lawnmowing world viewing Dixie Chopper’s latest and greatest creation -- the XC3300 Xcaliber mower?
Judging by the product report in Total Landscape Care magazine, very well, thank you.
With its 74-inch deck, the Xcaliber is the king of the industry, but it’s not just size but performance that counts, according to Alabama professional landscaper Cole Deason. He field-tested the 2007 unit and cut a 60-acre field in five hours with the Xcal-iber. That’s an amazing 12 acres per hour!
“Dixie Chopper rewrites the rule book” states the headline on the TLC article.
Deason was amazed by the productivity exhibited by Art Evans’ latest creation. “I cut that lot in five hours with the XC3300,” the landscaper reported. “That’s compared to 12 hours of work with a tractor and mower implement, or seven to eight hours with a 61-inch deck zero-turn mower.”

He was equally impressed with Dixie’s patented OCDC (operator-controlled discharge chute).
“I’ve got a job that I always have to turn the mower to discharge inward or else I end up with a parking lot full of grass blades,” Deason pointed out in the two-page TLC spread. “That’s a real time killer. But with the Xcaliber, I’d just whip the mower around, close the chute and make another pass. That was really nice.”
