Several Dixie Chopper assembly plant employees may find themselves on TV in an upcoming documentary on the City of Greencastle.
A camera crew from WTIU, Channel 30, Bloomington, Ind., made two recent visits to the Mallory plant on Greencastle's East Side to film the Dixie Chopper production process in action as part of a documentary that WTIU will air during its December fundraising period. WTIU is the Bloomington PBS (Public Broadcasting System) station (Channel 5 on the Greencastle cable).
Senior Producer/Director John Winninger and two female students captured the X Line in action and then filmed Media/Marketing Manager Rick Judy seated on a mower, talking about Dixie Chopper’s history and its products.
The film crew later moved to the warehouse at the old TechnoTrim building to capture a Dixie Chopper propane-powered mower in action, cutting the grass on the north side of the facility.
In addition to Dixie Chopper, the WTIU crew also shot video in Greencastle at Lone Star Industries, DePauw University, Eitel’s Flowers and on the Putnam County courthouse square.
Stay tuned for air date and time.
