With speed and horsepower prominent among its pedigree, Dixie Chopper is lending its name to a number of rising stars in the pulling and racing circuits, as well as joining the prestigious Team Lucas.
Most notably, Dixie Chopper sponsors 2007 National Truck Pulling Champion Jake Zaring on the Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League, NHRA regular Morgan Lucas and IHRA drag racer T. J. Schippling, along with drivers like Hoosier Steve Casebolt in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, NASCAR West driver Jason Patison of Lake Forest, Calif., and ASA Late Model driver Nick Neville.
And then there’s the youngest member of Dixie’s stable of drivers -- seven-year-old Trevor Neville. Dixie Chopper is now sponsoring Trevor, who drives on the QMA (Quarter Midgets of America) circuit. He is the little brother of Nick Neville.
Dixie Chopper is genuinely proud to be a part of Team Lucas.
“To be a part of Team Lucas was just a no-brainer for us,” Dixie Chopper Media Marketing Manager Rick Judy said. “Forrest Lucas is just such a marketing genius with Lucas Oil. And to be part of that whole operation and the positive sports atmosphere they have created is just perfect for us at Dixie Chopper.
“It’s a great way to get our name put out in front of so many people and in areas where you couldn’t or wouldn’t be able to do so on your own,” Judy added.
Has the affiliation with Team Lucas paid off for Dixie Chopper?
Judy knows it has.
“For one thing, it has allowed us to meet Kenny Sargent of the Speedfreaks radio show, which has resulted in a series of radio commercials for Dixie Chopper and the appearance of Matt Land (Dixie’s National Sales and Marketing director) on the live national satellite radio broadcast of the Speedfreaks show to talk about Dixie Chopper.”
Meanwhile, Dixie Chopper and driver Steve Casebolt have recently announced a new, high-powered alliance.
Ever since the 32nd Annual Dart Winternationals at East Bay Raceway Park the first week of February, Casebolt has carried the Dixie Chopper brand name on his orange and white number C9 car.
"We are just thrilled to have Dixie Chopper on board with us for our Lucas Oil Late Model Series campaign this year,” fellow Hoosier Casebolt said of the Indiana-made "World's Fastest Lawn Mower."
In 1980 Art Evans built the first Dixie Chopper. Little did anyone know that he would lead the way to revolutionizing the entire lawn and garden industry. Dixie Choppers are known for their performance, productivity and reliability. Still family owned and operated near Greencastle, Ind., Dixie Chopper takes great pride in producing the best mid-mount, zero-turn mowers in the industry.
Through the years manufacturing processes and procedures may have changed, but Dixie Chopper’s corporate values have remained constant. One driving value is its aim to produce a mower that has many years of useful life left long after it is paid for. Dixie Chopper may not be the first mower you have ever purchase, but chances are it will be the last.
"I am overwhelmed that Dixie Chopper has shown an interest in us and we hope to go out there and do a great job for them,” Casebolt said. “After learning more about Dixie Chopper and seeing their product line I can't see why everybody doesn't already have a Dixie Chopper. I can't wait to see how fast we can mow the grass around our shop. I'm sure it will have the neighbors jealous.”
In 2006 Casebolt was named Rookie of the Year in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. And last year he backed that up with a solid third-place finish in overall points.
Dixie Chopper also has teamed up with Schippling Motorsports.
“This is very cool,” IHRA driver T.J. Schippling of Canada said of the recent move. “Dixie Chopper makes a very cool product and I am very proud to represent ‘The World’s Fastest Lawn Mower.’”
Dixie Chopper will join the successful drag racing team as a major associate partner. Schippling Motorsports is thrilled to welcome Dixie Chopper to its growing team.
“Every weekend we are out there trying to be the fastest in our Lucas Oil dragster and when people visit dixiechopper.com they will learn how we can spend less time mowing our lawn and more time drag racing,” Schippling noted.
"Entering into this partnership with Schippling Motorsports and driver T.J. Schippling is an exciting new opportunity for Dixie Chopper," Dixie Chopper Media Marketing Manager Rick Judy said. "Dixie Chopper is always looking to expand its marketing horizons, and to be able to do so within the Canadian motor sports world is an excellent avenue for us in marketing our full line of 'The World's Fastest Lawn Mower.' Always ahead of the curve, Dixie Chopper offers propane-powered and diesel-powered mowers in addition to its stable of gasoline-burning commercial, industrial and residential models."
