Bob Barker Host of The Price is Right.
“Dixie Chopper ... come on down!”
That could easily have been the cry when the “World’s Fastest Lawn Mower” met the longest running game show in television history recently.
That’s right, Dixie Chopper has become part of TV game show history with a spot in the showcase portion of “The Price Is Right” episode scheduled to air Monday, April 23 on CBS.
A Dixie Chopper Silver Eagle mower (LT2000-44 model) will be a part of the second showcase unveiled at the end of the April 23 show. The show was taped on March 22 at CBS Television City in Los Angeles.
“The Price Is Right” airs daily from 11 a.m. until noon on CBS (WISH, Channel 8, Indianapolis, and WTHI, Channel 10, Terre Haute, in the Greencastle area). This is the 35th and final season of “The Price Is Right” for legendary host Bob Barker. The 83-year-old Barker has hosted TV’s highest rated daytime game show since Sept. 4, 1972.
Darren Hughes, Dixie Chopper national sales administrator, said representatives of “The Price Is Right” made contact with Dixie Chopper more than a year ago to try and work something out.
“They called me,” Hughes said. “Met me in Louisville actually. We talked about it for about a year and then got something signed off, and went with it.”
The LT2000-44 is a Silver Eagle (or light commercial) model with a 20-hp. Kohler engine and a 44-inch mowing deck.
And the price?
It’s right, of course -- at $5,999 MSRP.
